煤制***示范项目经验—通辽金煤化工公司：历经两年的调试，内蒙古通辽金煤化工公司15万吨/年煤制***示范装置于2011年底实现日产量突破400吨，负荷率达到80%。通辽金煤与河南煤化合资的永金化工位于河南的五个煤制***项目将于2012-2013年先后建成。
CTMEG Demonstration Update
Tongliao GEM Chemical
After two years of debugging, Inner Mongolia Tongliao GEM 150 kt/a MEG has reached 80% operation load by the end of 2011, with the daily production topping 400 tons. Besides, Tongliao GEM and Henan Coal Chemical Industry Group set up a joint venture – Yongjin Chemical – which have constructed five CTMEG projects and will be completed in 2012-2013.

煤制***技术研发与中试进展—天津大学/西南院/久泰能源/华烁科技/浦景/上海焦化
国内研究机构积极推进煤制***的研发与中试工作。天津大学与枣矿集团合作正在建设万吨级煤制***中试项目。西南化工研究设计院“回收和利用工业排放气制***技术”2011年通过四川省科技厅专家鉴定。久泰能源科技与上海交大合作，在山东临沂建设2000吨/年煤制***中试项目。由鹤壁宝马、五环工程和华烁科技开发的合成气制***中试项目于2011年试车成功。浦景煤制***中试取得成功，并已签订一系列技术转让协议。
R&D & Pilots Update of Coal-to-MEG
Tianjin University / SWRDICI / Jiutai / HAISO Technology / Shanghai Coking
Domestic organizations are actively promoting the R&D and the pilot research of CTMEG. Tianjin University and ZaoZhuang Mining Group are building a 10 kt/a CTMEG pilot project. Southwest Research and Design Institute of Chemical Industry (SWRDICI) has completed the technology appraisal of "Industrial Offgas Recovery and Utilization to MEG" by an experts panel of Sichuan Province in 2011. Jiutai Energy cooperated with Shanghai Jiaotong University, and built a 2 kt/a CTMEG pilot in Liny, Shandong. Hebi Baoma, Wuhuan and Huashuo Technology successfully start up the syngas to MEG pilot in 2011. Pujing  has signed several technology transfer agreements.

UBE and Donghua Engineering have completed the pilot of syngas to MEG and associates with HighChem to promote the technology in China.

新一代煤制***技术开发--中科院福建物质结构研究所/上海戊正工程公司：为了解决目前煤制***工艺在技术和工程上的问题，中科院福建物质结构研究所开发形成了实验室规模的新一代煤制***技术。采用上海戊正工程公司技术的华鲁恒升5万吨/年示范项目正在试车，戊正工程还在开发新一代煤制***催化剂。
New Generation CTMEG Catalysts Update

In order to solve the issues of CTMEG process, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) has developed the new generation CTMEG catalysts. Shanghai Wuzheng’s CTMEG technology and catalysts are used in Hualu Hengsheng’s 50 kt/a MEG project – which is in trial run; Wuzheng is also developing the new generation CTMEG catalysts.

Main process flow of coal-to-MEG technology consists of the carbon monoxide (CO) oxidation/coupling to form di-methyl oxalate, followed by the catalytic hydrogenation of oxalate to obtain MEG. In the process route, first of all CO and H2 has to be strictly separated from the syngas (CO+H2), the separated hydrogen is then sent to the following hydrogenation section as feedstock. ASU and Cold Box - this particular process of coal-to-MEG production will provide double business opportunity for the air separation players.
